linksync started out building online stores in 2008. A few years back we moved to providing SaaS solutions to businesses that wanted to integrate their business apps.
Today we’re working to develop PaaS (Platform as a Service) solutions. This is to leverage our historical expertise and knowledge, combined with recent advances in machine learning.
We’ve been working to build ML capacity internally, but we recognize that in order to achieve our goals and business objectives, we need to find the best talent in the field and bring them into our existing team. We firmly believe the Philippines has some of the brightest and most creative minds in the world. Our entire team is based there, and that’s why this competition will be confined to the Philippines – to continue to grow and build our expertise ‘in country’.
So we’re hosting a machine learning contest with US$5,000 in prizes for ML NLP experts to showcase those skills, win some cash in the process, and join a team that is determined to lead the Philippines and the world in ML.
Machine Learning Contest Mechanics Summary
The mechanics of the machine learning contest is simple. We will send you an audio from a single speaker. Your challenge is to develop and deliver a neural text-to-speech (TTS) system based on the 20 minutes of audio that we provide and outputs TTS must be indistinguishable from the voice of the original speaker.
Deadline for entries is on July 16 and winners will be announced on August 7, 2017.
